About the Jackson Aging Center
The Major goal of the Jackson Aging Center is to find the genes and molecular pathways that regulate aging and the susceptibility to age-related disorders.
The initial aims of the center are:
- Conduct a longitudinal lifespan study using non-invasive phenotypes on the 32 strains
- Carry out cross section studies using invasive phenotypes on these same strains, providing the scientific community with access to these cohorts
- Make the data available on a web-accessible database, mouse phenome database, and The Mouse Tumor Biology Database
- Train researchers in the use of the Center’s resources
